Unlock Alignment: Meditation and Manifestation Techniques

Everything I’ve asked for in my life is coming true. This realization struck me about three years ago.

It was 2022. Your freedom during Covid depended on the state you lived in. Outside of that, everyone of us was independently dealing with the standard personal conflicts and joys that life brings our way.

The process through which messages and ideas reach us at the national and global level was  and is still extensive. Depending on our algorithm, we can see uplifting and also horrifying things all in a five second span.

All of these things converging: stale and lingering Covid rules, civil discourse, isolation, worrying about my kids, information  overload etc. became too much and I needed a change of mental scenery. This is where meditation became a must for me personally.

The onslaught of information—both good and bad—becomes chatter and noise in the brain. I needed a way to drown it out and bring some more positivity into my life. For most, and certainly for me, it was and still is difficult to turn off the world’s noise, but it became achievable with practice.

We grow during times of struggle. It is then that we move into the next phase of who we are.

When humans are faced with disappointment, loss, and sadness, we often isolate. Alternatively, when everything is going according  to plan and positive, we tend to be more social, outgoing, and overall happier beings. We don’t feel the need as often to connect with higher frequencies or God because everything is hunky dory.

We tend to shift our behavioral patterns when we hit a low point that isn’t improving, and we are seeking change. Some of us decide to tune into the Holy Spirit or turn to  spiritual connection for help. Whether via prayer, meditation, or church, a seeking of sorts takes place.

For me, turning off the mainstream news in June of 2021 was the first step in making a daily routine change. I’ve always been a big believer in energy and how something makes me feel. I became aware of how much worse I’d feel after watching the news, so I decided to cut that out of my life at the time.

Once I unplugged from that, I turned inward. I meditated a lot more than I ever had. I would set up a cozy blanket in front of my sun-filled living room window and close my eyes. From there, I would begin my deep breathing.

After I realized how peaceful meditation made me feel, I wished I had done it sooner. It would become one of the smartest and most life changing things I would do. It’s helpful in so many ways- it fosters calm problem-solving, anxiety reduction, magnifies gratitude, and helps to cultivate more love towards those around you. For this reason, I want to share far and wide how I do it.

For any meditation or manifestation newbies reading this, here are simple steps to begin. Anyone, and I mean anyone can do this. I’m telling you, even if you’re someone who goes a million miles an hour, yes, you too can meditate.

Steps for meditation:

  1. Find a cozy blanket or pillow and place it under your rear.
  2. Sit with your legs crossed and a straight back. If your legs fall asleep easily in this position, straighten them out in front of you. If this is uncomfortable for your back, lean against your couch or wall. Make sure you are sitting as straight as possible.
  3. Close your eyes and breathe in through your nose while counting to five. Hold your breath for five seconds, then exhale through your mouth for five seconds. Do this 10 times to slow down your breathing.
  4. After you’ve done this a few times, you can breathe long and slow in and out through your nose. Start visualizing the numbers 7, 6, 5, 4…and so on until you get to 1. Picture the number on the inhale. Picture the same number on the exhale. Then go to the next number and so on.
  5. Once you slow your breathing, it’s important to establish grounding. The purpose of grounding is to center your focus. You can do this a few different ways. One way is to imagine roots coming off your legs and rear, going through the floor and into the soil beneath you. Now visualize the trunk of your body stretching up, up, up like a tree. It breaks through your ceiling, then roof, then through the sky. Your arms are outreached like branches until you are among the stars. Your fingers are long off-shoots extending from your two arms. I learned this technique from the fascinating James Van Praagh. Rebecca Rosen teaches another way to ground, which is to imagine an astronaut’s suit glowing white. Imagine yourself stepping into the suit and as you zip it up, you become weightless. You are floating and at peace. Bright white light surrounds you. A pastor offered another way to do this, which is to envision yourself at a table with three chairs. The Holy Spirit is seated at one of the chairs, Jesus at the other, and you. I suggest visualizing connecting your hands or “energy” with them picturing white light all around you.
  6. Once you finish using one of these grounding visualizations, you can stay here for a few minutes and try to empty your mind. Worries, noise, distractions, etc. will pop in, this is normal. Notice the thought, then begin to think about your breathing (in and out) each time a thought appears.

Practice this meditation as often as you can- and try to work up to doing it every day. The above can take you anywhere from 5 to 40 minutes. The more you practice, the easier it is to sit longer. It also becomes easier for the time to fly.

Now that you’re able to comfortably meditate, this is where your manifestation exercises can start to develop.

Some of you may begin to have connections with the Divine when you meditate or manifest. This is mind-blowingly cool, and frankly, it’s what got me hooked!

When you quiet the mind, important ideas and impressions begin to come into your consciousness. This is why it’s important to have a routine for each part of the mediation and manifestation process. Without a routine, it can be a jumbled pot of thoughts and hard to focus.

I don’t believe it is possible to just jump right in and begin to manifest without first quieting the mind in stillness. However, I do think there are moments throughout life when we feel aligned with the divine outside of meditation. It’s much more common, however, for messages to impress upon you in the stillness and quiet.

Think of it this way, imagine you’re driving a car, blasting music, singing, and navigating to where you’re headed. It would be quite difficult to focus on a thought coming in with all that noise.

So how will you know when it’s time to begin manifesting during your meditation session?

Well, everyone connects a little differently, however, you’ll feel a sort of unseen energy flowing.

In other words, the frequency of  the energy you normally radiate is operating at a different level. Some call this the Holy Spirit, some call it raising your vibration.Once you feel this shift in energy, is when you can begin to co-create.

You might experience different sensations when this happens. The hair on the top of your head may tingle or move, almost like static. You might hear snaps, crackles, and pops throughout the room, like electricity. You may also begin to see a violet or blue hue from the backs of your eyelids. It’s different for everyone, but you’ll certainly get a feeling of some sort.

When we slow our breathing and quiet our mind, our energy field shifts. We are vibrating at a different frequency. That frequency allows us to interact with what we cannot see. It opens a line of communication similar to that of prayer.

I like to say meditation is listening to God, manifestation is co-creating with God, and prayer is asking God for help.

Remember, the order you do the steps in is important and helpful. The sequence I use is as follows: meditate, ground yourself, practice gratitude, ask who needs help and how you can help them ( I call this as acts of service), the last step is manifesting. Here are the steps in detail.

  1. Visualize everything in your life you are grateful for, one by one. Think of your spouse or partner, your kids, extended family, friends, and pets. Appreciate your home and job. Lastly, take note of a recent success or two. Center your focus on your chest/heart area while doing this visualization.
  2. Following this gratitude exercise, shift your focus to the forehead, otherwise known as the third eye.  Then ask God/Source, “Use me as a vessel for love and light. Who needs my help right now?” From there, people’s faces will likely pop into view. This is how you’ll identify the individuals you need to reach each out to ask a simple, “How are you doing?” or maybe send them a “thinking of you” email or card in the mail, call them, send them a gift card to their favorite store, or anonymously do something kind for them. If no one comes to mind, you can focus on strangers you’ve read about who need help (ex:  trafficked children, a family who just had their home ravaged by a fire, etc.). Observe if a message comes in about how they need help. It could relate to money, grief, depression, illness, loneliness, or anything really. Remember to actually ask the question in your mind. If you don’t ask, it might not come through. We cannot simply demand what we want. We need to be grateful first for what we have, ask how we can help others, and then send love and well wishes to them in real life. We get back what we put into this world.

3. Once you have completed your “act of service” for friends, family, acquaintances, or strangers, now you can start to think about something you’d love to bring into your own life. This is the manifesting part. Say your wish as though it is already happening, and say it multiple times in your head. Then visualize what you are wishing for as though you are seeing it as something that has already happened.

To demonstrate what I mean, here is an example of a recent manifestation of mine .

I say something like this in my mind:

“I will be full of vitality and life. Illness will vanish from my insides. I will be healthier than ever before”. Then I visualize a healing light working through my intestines, veins, brain, heart, limbs. I envision I am crossing the finish line of a race; sweating, smiling, radiant. I’m hugging my husband who is so happy and proud of me for feeling well enough to run.

It’s important for me to caveat here that some manifestations happen shortly after you ask. Some take years to come to fruition and others take decades. It all depends on God’s timing.

I’ve been manifesting good health for myself for a long time. I’m still waiting for that to happen. I make it a point to be grateful on the days I do feel good. Gratitude is a big part of manifesting, we need to be grateful even in the face of life’s obstacles.

In case you have read this far and you don’t believe in manifestation, here are just a few of my manifestations that came to fruition. These are only the ones I’m willing to publicly share, trust me though- there have been many more!

My manifestations come to life

When your manifestations come true, the way in which they show up will dumbfound you and there won’t be any way to see them other than coming from the Divine.

  • MY JOB- I had manifested this for months. An old colleague helped bring this to fruition. He told me to reach out to a previous client of mine. I asked her to write me a recommendation on LinkedIn. When I reached out to her, she asked if I was looking for a job. I told her “yes.” She said she had the perfect role for me. I was hired 7 weeks later.
  • MORE USE OF CREATIVITY– We all have bits about our jobs we crave more than others. I asked to tap into my creative abilities more at work. It unfolded to where I use it almost every day. During my first year, that skill of mine was almost never used. Now, it has become something my peers at work seek from me regularly for projects.
  • A SIX DAY FAMILY VACATION-My family always  takes three day trips. My husband is not comfortable taking off more than 2-3 days from work. This has been the case for the last 24 years. This means I take a lot of trips without him, which was making me and the kids sad and disappointed. I manifested (only twice) a six day vacation as a family. A short time later, I received a message in my unchecked “other” inbox folder on Facebook. I had not checked this in over a year. It was from a producer on the Drew Barrymore show! They wanted me to be featured in the audience and participate in a trivia game where I could win “something”. I ended up winning a six day all expenses paid trip to Cabo with my family!
  • RUNNING A 5K WITHOUT STOPPING TO WALK– I am not a runner. I struggle with it, but wish I could do it. A few years ago, I signed up for a Turkey Trot with my husband and ran it without stopping to walk. This was a one time manifest, only a few days before the race. I ALWAYS walk at some point during a 5k, I was really proud of this one!
  • A NEIGHBORHOOD FRIEND FOR MY SON- during Covid, my youngest son really suffered from isolation. It was heartwrenching to watch. I tried so hard to have playdates, but the parents of his friends would not allow them. I manifested that a neighborhood boy would want to hang out with him. Within a few weeks, he had met a boy across the street and they would jump on his trampoline and play outside.
  •  A HUSKY -As a little girl, I had always wanted an Alaskan Malamute or husky. One day, my neighbor was walking a husky past our house. Our dog was in the window barking up a storm at the dog. I went outside to pet the husky and chat with my neighbor. She mentioned she was taking it to the pound, it had been abandoned in an apartment building and her nephew had found it. We took her in right away!
  •  A VW BEETLE – When I was 10, I wished on a star- literally. I wanted to own a blue convertible Volkswagen Beetle. My husband happens to love Beetles and got one when I was 25. It was navy blue and a convertible!  I had never told him about that wish and had forgotten about it completely.
  • DONNIE WAHLBERG- I used to write letters to Donnie Wahlberg. I would hope, wish, and pray to meet him and the New Kids on the Block. This was back when I was 10 or 12 years old.  Fast forward to 2024. A colleague mentioned at a lunch that he is close friends with Jonathan Knight. He asked if I would be interested in meeting him or one of the other band members. He mentioned that the New Kids would be coming to Connecticut on their tour. Of course I jumped at the suggestion! I not only met Donnie first, but I also had an actual conversation with him! Following that, I hung out with Jonathan Knight and met Paula Abdul! I could not believe my luck. Then I remembered how much energy I dedicated to meeting Donnie and the New Kids when I was a little girl – it wasn’t luck.

A SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF MONEY-I manifested that I would somehow come upon $1,200-1,300. I needed this amount for something specific for my family. The next week, I received an email from a hiring agent asking me to do a modeling gig for Craftsman leaf blowers. I know, hilarious, right?  The check I received for the modeling gig was $1,300. What’s wild?  I don’t model. I had an old membership account with Backstage, a magazine for dancing, acting, and modeling auditions. I hadn’t paid for it in a decade, Basically, the membership was inactive and I have no idea how they were able to find or contact me with an inactive account.

There are many more circumstances like this, but most I consider to be personal. It seems narrow- minded to call them simple coincidences, doesn’t it?

The whole “Ask and You Shall Receive” thing IS REAL.  Why do you think that saying has stuck around?

If our thoughts can interact with the Divine and shift our desired outcomes to become reality, it means our thoughts are more important than we can imagine.

I believe the more we practice gratitude, love, stillness, and co-creating with God, together we will grow powerful in all the right ways. Just think of the positive shifts we can all make in the world if we are all practicing the above? Evil wouldn’t stand a chance, and the light would truly drive out the dark.

I hope by doing these exercises, you enrich your life with more love and gratitude. Not only will your life feel abundant in many ways, you’ll feel aligned spiritually…and there’s nothing better.

Incredible things will begin to happen to you, and they’ll be unexplainable.

One last thing- if you haven’t noticed yet, it can’t all be about materialism and wealth. Be mindful of what you are trying to bring in. We all have a higher purpose, is what you are calling in helping you to get closer to what  you’ve been created to do?  Remember, there’s so much GOOD we can do.

Together, we can bring a significant amount of light into the world one meditation session at a time. The need for more love and light to be brought into our broken world is certainly something we can ALL agree on.
